Burma Medical Research Society was firstly established in 1957 and devoted to the promotion and conduct of Medical Research in Myanmar. Burma Medical Research Institute (BMRI) was established in 1963 and carried out the research works under guidance of Burma Medical Research Council (BMRC). In 1972, BMRI was changed to Department of Medical Research and transferred under the Ministry of Health. Rapid growth of research activities including manpower, materials and methods occurred during 1963-1973. Biomedical Research Centre, and Clinical Research Centre were developed and increased build-up of research capacity by Government and International supports during 1987-2011. Public Health Research, Clinical Research, Poison Research and Vaccine Research were collaborated with other Departments of Ministry of Health in that period. Health Systems Research, Socio-Medical Research, Advanced Molecular Biology and Molecular Genetics Research were also established and expended to Bio information technology. Publication of many research papers and post- graduated theses are basic outcomes of different research fields from DMR. Therefore, researchers should be registered in MHRR website for their evidence-based research data and outcomes after publication in the local or International medical journals. Researchers should be registered in our MHHR website for clinical trial research before recruiting the participants and should describe research design, aims, objectives, sample size, types of sample and voluntary participants, detailed procedures, methods, analysis of data , outcomes, risks and detailed ethical information.
