About Us

'Research' means the generation of new knowledge, the discovery of new phenomena, the invention of new methods, the development of new concepts to explain observed phenomena or that is systematic investigation into and study of materials and sources in order to establish facts and reach new conclusions. It also means that experimentation aimed at the discovery and interpretation of facts, revision of accepted theories or laws in the light of new facts, or practical application of such new or revised theories or laws.

'Medical Research or Health Research' means the generation of new knowledge, the discovery of new phenomena, the invention of new methods, the development of new concepts to explain observed phenomena that are related to the promotive, preventive, curative, rehabilitative and palliative components of health.

Myanmar Health Research Registry (MHRR) http://mhrr-moh.dmr.gov.mm/ is a publicly –available database of formally–approved health researches originated in Myanmar from year 2000 onwards. The researchers can easily register using our one-stop database website. We accept all types of research studies including basic, social, applied, implementation, operation, analytical and clinical trial research).These studies have been accepted with approval letters from Ethics Review Committee (either local or International). MHRR is carried out in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki 2013; 'Every research study involving human subjects should be registered in a publicly accessible database'.

The aims and objectives of MHRR –

Researchers can register their new research findings especially for health and they can easily communicate to each other. The Public can easily find out their research projects, activities and findings for their diseases of interest and a Knowledge Sharing section could be used to contact respective researchers for active online Public Chatting and Questions & Answers section using this website within a short period of time. This website can organize different special groups (member groups) especially for more common non-communicable diseases or diseases of public interest such as Diabetes, Hypertension and Cancer. A separate section dedicated for opportunities and availabilities of Research Funds and Grants could give researchers information of various funding sources (website address) from local or international Research Agencies. In a News section of our web site, a detailed programme of Special Scientific Talks or Symposia related to different fields of health for all interesting persons or researchers to be invited.


The Outcomes of MHRR –

People can easily find out the total lists of all health research registries including name of the main researcher (Principal Investigator) and co-researchers (Co-Investigators), name of title, date of registry, abstract and source of full paper. It can support to reduce unnecessary duplication of research based on different medical fields in our country. MHRR provides information to increase opportunities of new research areas in human health. It could make communication easier and more transparency between researchers of different medical fields and people who are interested in research activities (human participant) for clinical trial research in our country. It can encourage communication between local and International researchers. All medical persons, researchers and health focused people can easily attend medical symposia and scientific talks for achieving advanced medical knowledge using MHRR on-line website.
